Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Blaine's a short-ass, about 5'7", small but athletic build, probably born from the fact he is bursting with energy and very active.
2. How old is he? Currently 17, but turning 18 on January 2nd.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? He has good posture and carries himself well. Even when sitting, he rarely slouches.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He's fit and healthy, but gets plagued by migraines and should wear glasses for reading, but doesn't. He also has a distinct phobia of blood and needles, which can get messy sometimes when he faceplants the floor because of it. He also has epilepsy in

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? He's energetic and bouncy, sort of like a puppy with too much energy when he's into something. In general, he walks purposefully with a little bit of a swagger. He's confident within himself.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He's attractive and cute, and has very expressive eyes and smile. Though, he's modest. He knows he doesn't look like a horse's ass, but he's not full of himself or think he's God's gift.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Dark, olive tones, clear skin, no obvious blemishes.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. Thick, dark, short and curly. The curls are so difficult to tame, he has to use a lot of hairgel to get it to behave itself and can often be heard complaining of bad hair days. He wears it styles with gel unless he's chilling and relaxed, and then the curls hang free.
9. What color are his eyes? Hazel
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Blaine's height is his most noteable feature. He's the shortest guy out of all his friends and it's a running joke with most.
11. What are his chief tension centers? His head, without a doubt. It comes out in the migraines he gets when he is stressed.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? Blaine's style is probably what can only be termed dork-chique. He is a little bit dorky, but the preppiness means he actually pulls it off. He favours bright colours, with bow ties and suspenders with bold patterns. He isn't all that fond of socks and cardigans and sweater-vests are also loved. But for Blaine, it works and overall, he could probably be classed as dressy and smart, just with his own brand of quirk that was previously hidden with his Dalton school uniform and blazer.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? Sometimes they don't seem to. He likes shorter pants, and most of his clothes are very well-fitting, but he is comfortable and wears them well. That's all that matters.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? There was a distinct difference when he was going to Dalton, but now that he's at McKinley not so much. His relaxing attire is different to his standard dress, where he favours sweat pants and t-shirts or jeans rather than the more dressy outfits. When he's feeling down or ill, he definitely dresses right down and isn't afraid to rock a Snuggie, Buzz Lightyear PJs or animal slippers.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? He favours boxer-briefs, but isn't opposed to commando now and again.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Deep and smooth.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? He speaks calm and collected.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Not really, he's quite eloquent.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? Blaine knows French from school, and Greek from his mother.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? No, he only speaks them when he needs to.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? Definitely impromptu. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and his impromptu often has a tendency to get him in trouble sometimes.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? He's eloquent, as stated above, but when he's nervous or scared, he gets disjointed and a little choked on the right words, sometimes not sure what to say. It takes a lot to embarrass Blaine, so that usually isn't the problem.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Blaine's very intelligent and well-learned. He put in a lot of hard work when he transferred to Dalton, but he was also raised that education was important. He gets top grades most of the time. But also from his experiences over recent years, he's got some street-smarts about him as to his judgement of character and people.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? He can think on his feet, and does, but he also overthinks a lot of the more serious things, sometimes to the point he thinks too much and stresses out about it all. He is probably better left to think on his feet and deal with the consequences later, but that's not always the case. He's very aware of trying to do th right thing.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? He is logical, but when he tries to be intuitive and follow his gut, it sometimes puts him in situations he doesn't really understand and screws up or embarrasses himself. He is very idealistic, but practical-wise, he knows ideals are just that. In reality, he has to be practical and see the world for what it is, or he could end up just getting even more hurt.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Public school, private school, back to public school, and hopes to go to college in canon. In his verses, it varies depending on the situation.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? Music is his biggest love. He would be interested in learning another language, and maybe more about fashion, if only because Kurt is interested. He's easygoing, though, and likes learning any new things. He wishes he had the height and stature to play football, but he just remains a huge fan instead, and would never be opposed to learning more instruments.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert with a capital E, but he has his bashful moments.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Playful, though with a thread of inner self-conscious and moodiness in circumstances out of his control. He can get very anger when Kurt's threatened or his friends are threatened, but on a whole, cheerful, open, honest and laid back.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Enthusiastic, friendly, and keen. And doesn't always get the best reception for it, but he takes it in his stride. Being accepted is a vital importance for him.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? React. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and it's gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion. With the flighty things in life, he goes in like a bull at a gate, but with his own issues, he tends to be an overthinker.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Flight, then fight when the anger sets in. He's not proud of himself for it, but in situations of intense conflict, he freezes or runs away. It's a big issue for him. He always regrets running away. However, when it comes to Kurt and protecting him, it's always fight... usually verbally. He'll protect Kurt with his life.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Oh yes. All of the above. Blaine's a big kid. He loves to laugh, he loves to joke, and pretty much anything goes. He'll always be found laughing at his own expense, too. He's very bright and happy most of the time, he wouldn't be who he was if he couldn't laugh as much as he does. Probably why he hit it off so well with Puck.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? LOL. Some say ADHD, but not. That's just Blaine's excitable personality. He brushed with depression in the wake of his attack, but support from his grandmother, mother, and therapy helped him beyond that. Dalton really was a safehaven for him, and he'll be eternally grateful for it.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? The attack, meeting Kurt, his father's disapproval, and his grandmother's death.
14. What does he fear? Getting hurt again, and Kurt being hurt in the same way. He fears losing Kurt all the time, and fears he'll be the one to drive him away. He fears losing himself because of the fear, and tries to overcome it the best he can.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? Blaine just wants to succeed. He wants to make a difference in the world, he just mostly hasn't figured that out yet. His future verses, a lot of his successes have come from random luck and being where he felt he should be at the time. He's a big believer in karma.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? The extent of his attack. Kurt knows, and he has touched on a couple of details with Puck, but mostly, no one knows just how badly he was beaten and that it's the main reason why he repeated and is a junior in canon now.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. He has a good relationship with his mother, but has distinct daddy issues. Canon has indicated that Blaine's father disapproves of his sexuality and has tried to 'make him straight'. I have dabbled with this in varying degrees over his verses, but the common thread I have stuck with is a good relationship with his mother, and strained at best with his father.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? I gave Blaine an older brother in one verse, but it never really stuck much in my head. Everywhere else, he's an only child and I think that makes more sense. We'll see what canon has in store for him down the track.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? He has an uncle on his father's side who is in his thirties and doesn't give much of a toss about Blaine if he has to be responsible for him. He more just wants a buddy in his nephew. Blaine has his grandmother and is very close to her, but in my head canon, she died when he was in high school. She was a rock for him when he was going through the trauma of his gay bashing and is the one who paid for his Dalton tuition.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? Kurt, Kurt's family, and all his friends. He considers them all family, and loves and respects each and every one of them.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? In just about every verse, his BFF is

6. Does he have other close friends? The Dalton boys are his closest, and some of Kurt's friends in New Directions have come to be the same. Blaine is very much a people person. He needs people around him to have confidence in himself, but after the ordeal of coming out, he doesn't trust easily and sometimes doesn't believe he is worthy of them.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? He makes friends easily if people are judging him. He puts up walls around himself if he thinks they are and sticks to those he trusts. But he is very personable and very friendly, probably too much in some people's eyes, but they are likely not the sort he would get along with anyway.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? The lines are well and truly blurred. He is not a believer in the conventional family form, so his friends are his family. He could never choose between them or put more importance on one or the other.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? Varies with the verse. He's attached to Kurt across the board, however.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Yes, with Kurt. I am unable to ship Blaine with anyone else, and never will. And
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? Kurt, Kurt, Kurt *cue the broken record, but que sera sera*
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? Someone who gets him, above and beyond all else. Anything else is just sprinkles on the cake. He believes Kurt to be his perfect match, and probably always will.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? He has a daughter in

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? Any homophobe basically. Beyond that, he doesn't like to stop and think about it. He prefers a more positive outlook on life, even when he's had taken his hardest knocks.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? "100% gay" quote-unquote as to canon, and he's a 6 on Kinsey without a doubt.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? Blaine's a very passionate and touchy-feeling person. In his canon mind, it's difficult for him not to just hold Kurt and touch him and have PDA with him like other couples do. This has developed in his adult verses. He loves sex, he needs it, and he uses it to connect with his other half, plain and simple. He gets very antsy and frustrated when he can't have it. Typical boy ;)
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? Blaine's probably quite vanilla in the sense of the word. He is happy with just Kurt, and although they get a little adventurous with each other, they're not into heavy kink or weird and wonderful sexual acts. He adores sex, but he adores if very simple in it's form. He's happiest at his most when he can just worship Kurt and be close to him. He has a bit of a fetish for wet sex, shower, bath, pool, rain, and he likes playing with vibrators... though considering he has been known to use it as a lightsaber for Star Wars impersonations, perhaps not in the sense it's intended. His other favourite kink is, without a doubt, rimming. Anything too kinky is a turn-off for him.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? Blaine's a Capricon and a Rooster in the Chinese zodiac. Some of the traits of a Capricorn are good organizational skills, neat & tidy, practical, realistic, strong work ethic, materialistic tendencies, conventional, respects authority, egotism, cruel taskmaster, servility, and excessive perfectionism. They like simple food, history, unconditional love, not being pressured, privacy, elitism, and family, so he very much does fit the Capricorn bill! The traits of a Rooster are Acute, neat, meticulous, organized, self-assured, decisive, conservative, critical, perfectionist, alert, zealous, practical, scientific, responsible. Can be over zealous and critical, puritanical, egotistical, abrasive, proud, opinionated, given to empty bravado... again, very close to Blaine's personality.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? Blaine was christened as a baby, but he isn't practising. Much like Kurt, he doesn't get much comfort from religion considering what he has to go through because of his sexuality. He finds a lot more comfort in music and uses that to get his inner peace.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? It probably boils down to treat people who you want to be treated. It's why the homophobia is something very hard for Blaine to truly accept. He knows it is there, and has been a victim of it. But he doesn't understand why people are so nasty when the world should just be more simple. He is very naive and innocent in a lot of ways still. In his post-canon verses, he is much the same, but taken that naivity and innocent to turn it into worldly wisdom that is often a help to his friends.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Very tolerant, considering he is stuck in a vortex of intolerance. He still believes he can make a difference, he just doesn't know how when the world and society capabilities scare him so much.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? None, and it would be hypocritical of him to do so. He despises homophobia, but has been too victimised to hold prejudices himself. Hate scares him, and it always will. The memories of his attack are never very far from his mind, but he has used it to become a better and stronger person within himself and it was that which gave him the strength to help Kurt fight his demons.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? He's well off to rich in all my verses. His canon Facebook game, he has just received a healthy inheritence from losing his grandmother, and in some of his future verses, his performing talents have meant he has done well for himself.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? His status various from typical school kid, to celebrity, to domestic home body over his verses. I've dabbled with him in a lot of different environments and a lot of different issues impacting on him and his status. Blaine's past does dictate a lot of his future decisions, as expected.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? Again, this varies as to his verse. Mostly houses and apartments, most verses he is living with Kurt, sans canon. He has various added room mates depending on the verse also. Whatever goes for the verse environment!
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Clothing, CDs, DVDs, gifts for Kurt, junk food, toiletries, cologne, books, gas for his car, hair products, sheet music, etc. etc.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He's still a student in canon, but he has a range of different occupations in his various verses including an actor, a teacher, and a rockstar. He's a versatile character I've been really able to mould into different circumstances he has taken to like a duck to water.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? Music and Kurt are probably his two biggest hobbies. He is very talented with his music and singing, and in my head canon, he can play guitar and piano. He has been seen playing piano in canon. He also loves watching movies, hanging out with his friends, and theme parks.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Blaine's a big eater, and not always a good eater. He should watch certain foods because of his migraines, but he really doesn't. Luckily, Kurt is usually around to bitchslap him into line. He loves his sweet food and junk food, but he knows when to take it easy... he just doesn't always want to.

Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

4. Season? Spring
5. Book? The Harry Potter series (he'll never pick a favourite)
6. Music? He's so versatile, but he has a favour for Katy Perry and P!nk
7. Place? Kurt's bedroom
8. Substance? Dr Pepper Jelly Bellys
